Back to Jakarta
Arrived in Jakarta last night at 24.00, it was more tiring and longer travel time then when I went from Jakarta to Jogjakarta. My big brother also very tired, I can see it from His face.
It has been a stressfull weekend in Jogja after the earthquake that happens in Jogja. I called My Mom this morning to ask the status in Jogja. She said that everything is OK now, the electricity are up so tonight it won't be dark anymore.

Earthquake in Jogjakarta
This morning I was awaken by mother nature, a big earthquake shakes Jogjakarta at 05.55 in the morning. I was very shocked because the earthquake is very big, the biggest earthquake that I ever experience in My life in Jogjakarta. I woke up in hurry and go out of My home. My family also get out the house, so does the neighbors.
All things fallen down, walls cracked or damaged, houses destroyed, electricity went down, mobile phone hardly connected, all people panicked. Some part of My house also cracked and damaged.
The worst thing happen to My neighbor because the second floor of Their house are completely destroyed, I'm really feel sorry for Them as They are a poor family and the earthquake make They suffer even more.
I decide to do city seeing after the earthquake to know what happen in other part of the city, My sister want to join Me so both of us see around using Our motorcycle. I take several pictures of collapsed building, cracked walls, and peoples that got injured by the earthquake.
The area that had the worst impact of the earthquake are Bantul, where many poor peoples live there. Their houses are poorly builded so it's not so strong when the earthquake hit. Many people get injured because the walls and the roof are collapsed. As the earthquake happen in the morning when many people still sleeping or still sleepy so peoples aren't prepared for this.
The hospitals are full of injured peoples, alot of peoples are bleeding in Their head, it's very terrible! traffic jam happen near hospital as many people want to get treatment. Ambulance and Police are very busy.
Then I went to see Saphire Square, one of the new malls in Jogjakarta. It also had an impact from the earthquake, some walls are broken down. I was planning to see Plaza Ambarukmo too, it's the biggest mall in Central Java, but suddenly all people went panicked, I got a phone call from My Mom that the sea level has risen! it's a Tsunami!!
All peoples yelled "The water is risen!!" many times, the others are get paniced and turned around, all peoples went to the north as the earthquake happen in the sea and it's located on the south of Jogjakarta. I follow the flow as I don't want to take any risk, but deep in My heart I don't think that it's true.
My feeling was correct, it just an issue, some fucking assholes spread the issue to make peoples panicked. Their fear are understandable, after the Tsunami that happen in Aceh, people always afraid of earthquake. I go back to the south again, forgeting all that tsunami crap. I go to My uncle's house as My mother are being there.
After that I went to My Grandfather with My Mom to know how He is doing, is He save or not. Gladly He is save, just the house are cracked all over the place.

Just small updates, I put photos that I take when I do city seeing. Information from the radio said that the earthquake was 5,8 Richter, the casualties are more than 1700 peoples death, more than 3000 peoples get injured and more than 17.000 houses are destroyed.
Back to Jogjakarta
Just arrived in Jogjakarta My hometown at 23.00. I went to Jogjakarta with My big brother, His sister and His girlfriend. We traveled for more than 12 hours by car, while it only took 1 hour by plane
Why would I waste My time by going back from Jakarta to Jogjakarta by car? the answer is simple, it is more cheaper
and I travel with three other peoples so I have friends to talk with.
We make an hour stop in Kroya, We have an Aunt there so We visit Her and take a rest. It has been a long long time ago since I saw Her, maybe it's more than 10 years
wow.. We had a dinner together there and then continue Our travel to Jogja.
I'm so tired though I already experiencing sitting inside the plane for more than 12 hours, it still different with sitting in the car as the road is very bumpy. But I do get a beautiful view on the way to Jogjakarta and I like it.

Break Shot Re-match
Yesterday Budy ask Me to play billiard again, He seem so happy with billiard games the day before yesterday
so He want to play again. Actually I a little bit lazy to play again, but since He'll pay for the table it's not good to refuse a good offering ![]()
So We play 18 games: 9 games of Nine Ball and 9 games of Eight Ball, which both I lose 4 - 5 and 4 - 5 to Budy
I lose because I pocketed the white ball several times. But I'm quite proud to My self because on a Eight Ball game I pocketed 5 balls in a row
which not bad for Me ![]()

Break Shot
Last night Budy invite Me to play billiard with His friends Henny and Desy. We leave from QnAp office at 17.00. But before We go to billiard I ask Budy to take Me to Taman Anggrek Mall, I need to do some banking stuff on the ATM.
Unfortunetly the ATM is out of service so I cancel My plan. To be frankly, I had a secret agenda
which I'm not telling Budy at first. I want to meet with a friend of Mine which currently She is coming to Her brother in Jakarta. We met in front of the ice rink in TA, as each of Us have Our own plan, so it's not much conversation We had.
After We split up, I and Budy go to Flicks, it's a billiard center near QnAp office. We play until 21.30, it was so fun! amazingly Budy play quite well this time while usually He is sucks!
I'm also play quite well, Me My self impressed with My play last night ![]()
Because Budy have a big self convidence after winning several game last night, He ask Me to play again today, but I refuse it as I'm not interested playing billiard today.

A Lesson From the Chinese Bamboo Tree
When I went to My brother's office a couple weeks ago, I saw a poster on the wall with a good proverb. I want to post it to My blog but I always forgot or postpone it, so here it is:
- A Lesson From the Chinese Bamboo Tree
You take a little seed, plant it, water it, and fertilise it for a whole year, and nothing happens.
The second year you water it and fertilise it, and nothing happens.
The third year you water it and fertilise it, and nothing happens.
How discoraging this becomes! The fourth year you water it and fertilise it, and nothing happens.
This is very frustrating. The fifth year you continue to water and fertilise the seed then.. take note.
Sometime during the fifth year, the Chinese bamboo tree sprouts and grows NINETY FEET IN SIX WEEKS!Life is much akin to the growing process of the Chinese bamboo tree. It is often discouraging. We seemingly do things right, and nothing happens.
But for those who do things right and are not discouraged and are persistent, things will happen. Finally we begin to receive the rewards.
I like the proverb above and feel that it will be good to share it with others. Sometimes We do something and expect for instant result and forget that changes or results need time to happen.
Once I ask one of My mentor at QnAp IT BV - Patrick Bonne -, "What must I do, so I can code faster and understand more about Object Oriented Programming (OOP)?" and His answer was look like this "OOP is like a way of life, don't expect to master it in one day".
Another saying are from Ruud Mulder "When I found a big problem, I break it to small pieces and solve it one by one". You see.. life and learning is a process, You makes small steps to make a big step.

Bought New 1GB USB Disk
Just bought an USB disk with 1GB capacity, it cost Rp. 260.000,- which is cheap for 1GB USB disk. I bought it because I want to use it for saving My emails, I'm using Mozilla Thunderbird Portable which can be downloaded in Portable Apps website.
Portable Thunderbird is an email client, it's a modified version of Mozilla Thunderbird that can be runned from an USB Disk, SD Card, CD-RW and External Harddisk without installing it. What I like from portable Thunderbird are:
- I can run My favorite email client - which is Thunderbird - to check My email from any computer that have internet connection.
- All My emails are saved on the USB Disk, so I can read it on any computer too.
- I don't need web mail to access My POP3 email when I'm not using My own computer.
One disadvantage of using portable Thunderbird is that it is slow. Because the application are in the USB Disk which can't be as fast as harddisk, even using the USB 2.0 version, it's still slow. But the mobility of the application pay the slowness ![]()
