Using Putty for SSH tunneling
As Telkom Speedy internet connection getting worse day by day and didn’t show any sign of getting better. I remember an article I read some time ago about using remote server as a proxy server.
On my previous blog post “Speedy Slow Internet Connection†I’m using my university’s server to connect to RevTI’s server which is located in United States or international network. So I’m thinking to use my university’s server as a proxy to connect to international websites via SSH tunneling.
Disable Notification Balloon Tips in Windows XP
I always annoyed with Windows XP's balloon tips notification because it's always pop-up every time Windows is started. Balloon tips notification always pop-up notification about wireless connection not found (which I already know that I turned off the wireless LAN). Doesn't want to get annoyed anymore so here is how-to to turn off balloon tips notification from Microsoft's website:
- Click Start, click Run, type regedit, and then press ENTER.
- Navigate to the following subkey: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced
- Right-click the right pane, create a new DWORD value, and then name it EnableBalloonTips.
- Double-click this new entry, and then give it a hexadecimal value of 0.
- Quit Registry Editor. Log off Windows, and then log back on.
Note: These steps disable all Notification Area balloon tips for this user. There is no way to disable balloon tips for specific programs only.

Hard Resetting Dopod 838
Last night I'm doing a hard reset on my dopod 838 PDA Phone. I do the hard reset because the PDA Phone has 2 problems which disturb me when using it. A hard reset will restore all PDA Phone setting to its default factory setting, so make sure you are backing up all your SMS, contacts, emails and files before you do hard reset because all of these will be deleted!

I installed FireFox 2 yesterday just to try it and see what is new with the latest version of FireFox 2 (FF2). At first glance the skin is look very nice, better than FF 1.5 and I very like it.

How to Type Euro Sign
On today’s keyboard usually you will see an additional character which is Euro sign. On my laptop’s keyboard it’s placed on key 5 together with % sign.
I always wondering how to type the € sign by typing it on the keyboard and not using Microsoft Word’s Insert > Symbol function. I already ask some of my friends, including friends that came from European country, but nobody knows.
Got GPRS and Wi-Fi working on Dopod 838
After doing some reads on the manual and some trial and error, now the GPRS and Wi-Fi on my Dopod 838 can work.
On my Dopod 838 there is a program called "AutoConfig", I use this program to configure the GPRS setting automatically. What I do is just select my mobile phone service provider from the list on AutoConfig and it will be start configuring the settings. It took a while for the configuring process finished and the PDA will need to be restarted.
After restarting the PDA all GPRS configuration are already set and I can start browsing the internet.
Second Hand PDA Phone
Last night I went to Plasa Semanggi to meet a PDA owner that wants to sell his PDA. I saw his advertising on a forum on the Internet. After some negotiation about the price, we had a deal and set an appointment to meet.
Because I don't have personal transportation so I do some social engineering 
to my colleague, Herru Purnomo to take me to Plasa Semanggi and he 'voluntarily' agree
