PlayBoy 2nd Edition

June 16th, 2006 | No Comments | Posted in Daily Blog, QnAp Asia

Today at lunch time Me with other QnAp members goes to Citra Land Mall, We are going to buy pizzas on Pizza Hut to celebrate Mr. Rohim’s birthday and also Veronika’s farewell party as She is leaving the company.

At Citra Land We pass by a book shop, in that book shop I saw a PlayBoy Indonesia 2nd edition. PlayBoy Indonesia had big protests from mainly Islamic organisations because They thought that it contains pornographic content. This protests make Me curious about PlayBoy’s content, so I bought one.

After thumb thorough the pages, I didn’t see any single naked woman’s picture, of course it’s disapointed Me :D hey… it’s PlayBoy! it should contain at least one barely naked woman picture right??

The nudest picture I saw only a woman wearing bra and lingerie, that’s all. I even saw that kind of picture on woman magazine - bra advertising. So what is the problem with those people who protest??

What make Me think is.. why only PlayBoy that being protested? what about other imported magazines or even local magazines that also had a woman pictures wearing only bra or bikini? There is alot of that kind magazine in the market..

Anyway I don’t care about the protest. Now I want to reading PlayBoy’s articles.

Last words: Happy birthday Mr. Rohim and farewell Veronika :)

Find How To Record Sound in C#

June 9th, 2006 | 3 Comments | Posted in Programming, QnAp Asia

This few days I’ve been searching for how to record sound in C#. After doing some searching on the Internet I found DirectX SDK. Unfortunately the documentation and example of DirectX SDK are writen in C/C++ which is diferrent with C# so I get confused on how to implement it in C#.

I’m still searching for an example on the Internet, I hope I can found one that give a good and easy example.

It seems that I didn’t go thoroughly on DirectX SDK installation directory as this morning I found an example of C# code for capturing/recording sound in ‘\Samples\Managed\DirectSound\CaptureSound’ directory.

Although the code not working correctly. I got some error when running it and the program can’t capture sound, but I’m a little bit glad because at least I have an example.

Go Kart Race

June 8th, 2006 | No Comments | Posted in QnAp Asia

Yesterday the PLN - Perusahaan Listrik Negara - or in English ‘Goverment’s Electricity Company’ do maintenance on a electric box which needed the electricity to be shutted down for half day.

Because without electricity QnAppers can’t work, so We decide to do company outfit. We decide to do go karting, We gather in the office at 13.00, but some of QnApper including Me already in the office from 08.00.

Actually I was planning to check My email first because the electricity will shutted down at 10.00 so I still have time to check email, but the server went down too.. it seems to have a problem with it’s motherboard.

Anyway at 13.00 We go to the go kart circuit. It was light raining when We arrived so We must wait until the rain is stopped. Not for long the rain is stopped so We start go karting :D

It was very fun and exciting! We really racing each other. Although the go kart only run 35 - 40 Km/hour (approximately) but it was quite fast on a small circuit.

We do more than 5 sessions for each QnApper, each session are 6 minutes long which if You drive fast - to fast and to furious :D - You can do 5 or 6 laps.

Some of the go kart doesn’t have good tires so it always slides when You turn in a corner with fast speed.

It was a much of fun company outfit :)) can’t wait to do it again :p

Code Review

May 19th, 2006 | No Comments | Posted in QnAp Asia

Today a was invited to join a code review meeting by Mr. Yenn, He is the project leader of OWG project that currently on the finishing phase.

The meeting went well with several remarks from Me :) actualy most of the remarks are come from Me, I hope the OWG team doesn’t take it personally as I only do My part as reviewer.

A code review meeting as what it called are a meeting to review a piece of code from the whole software that currently being made. The purposes of code review are:

  1. To check whether the code already following the coding standard or not.
  2. To check whether the code already following the software design.
  3. To check the code algorithm. Improve it if it’s possible. What I mean with improving code are make the code more ’simple’, ‘readable’, ‘logical’ and ‘works’

Generally a code review is to make the code to be better code and not to discredit the programmer or the project team. So always keep in mind that a code review is a meeting to help programmer to write better codes.
